Biography

Andrei Zapsa (17 April 1996, in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova) is a professor, writer and conductor from the Republic of Moldova.

In 2012, he graduated from the secondary school cycle of the Theoretical Lyceum "Ion Creangă" from Chisinau, at musical-choral profile, after which he follows until 2016 the Financial-Banking College of Chisinau. In 2018 he graduated from the Moldova State University, obtaining the bachelor degree in Political Science, taking his Master Degree in Diplomacy Studies in 2020. He works as a professor of economic disciplines at the Financial-Banking College in Chisinau / Center of Excellence in Economy and Finance (2016-2019); at the National Trade College of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (2020); as Deputy Director at a private school (2020-2021) and University Lecturer starting from 2021. From 2022 he is studying at College of Europe in Natolin. During his professional path, he also worked at National Tax Service (2019-2020) and as Commercial Director/SMSEO in several private companies. 

Artistic activity

He made his literary debut in 2015 with the Trilogy "The Great Battle", which he launches in 2016 together with the premiere of the orchestral suite signed by Andrei Zapșa at a symphonic music concert.

In 2017 he published the novel "Way to Indonesia" which he launches in the city of Surabaya, Republic of Indonesia. At the same time, besides the orchestra he established in the Republic of Moldova, he founded and conducted an orchestra of academic music in the city of Makassar, being the only such band on the island of Sulawesi.

In 2018 he publishes the novel "Nomadul. The Call of King” (original in romanian: Nomadul. Chemarea lui Vodă), which classified in the final on "Open Eurasia" international contest, organized during the Open Eurasian Literature Festival 2019, Brussels, 8th Edition.

He has a rich concertistic and creative activity, working as conductor with:

- Athens Philharmonia Orchestra (Greece);
- Symphonic Orchestra of National Philharmonic of Moldova;

- National Symphony Orchestra of Public National Broadcasting Company „Teleradio - Moldova”;

- „Doina" Academic Coral Chapel;

- Choral "Voices of Spring";

- Symphony Orchestra of Music College "St. Neaga".

On February 8, 2019, he is decorated by the President of the Republic of Moldova with the "Mihai Eminescu" Medal, for special merits in creative activity.
